Today’s opposition are Ecko Whitecaps. Last season Landsdowne took 4 points from this fixture. After a good win against South Leigh Manor Landsdowne needed to keep up their good form a get another win today.

Landsdowne started well, they were playing some good football and created several changes early on. A long throw by Viecelli, flicked on by Bushy and finished well by Smart, 1-0. Unfortunately the lead didn’t last long as a lucky bounce fell to the Ecko striker in the box, 1-1. Landsdowne replied straight away, good work down the right by Rix was met by a neat finish from Bushy, 2-1. Again the lead was short lived as another mistake at the back was finished well by Ecko, 2-2. It looked like it was going to be level at the break, until a mistake by the goalkeeper, gave the ball straight to Dan T who coolly lobbed the ball over the outstretched keeper, 3-2. Half time.

At half time Smartey was happy. His team had played well and were leading. They just needed to keep going and taking their changes. They did exactly that and blew the opposition away in the second half. Landsdowne scored four goals, while Ecko could manage only one in reply.

The fourth a great move started with Yard beating his man, played to Rix who played Quinny in down the left. A Bale like cross was met again by Bushy, 4-2. Rix then managed to get in on the act, a great delivery by Vicelli was met with a powerful header by Rix, 5-2. Bushy then took the plaudits with his second hat trick of the season, another assist by Rix and a great three goals for Bushy. Marling finished the game in style; a through ball by Yard.... Marling beat his man and smashed a great left foot strike into the roof of the net. Final score 7-3.

A great result for Landsdowne. Now 4 wins from 5. Let’s keep it goings lads!! Man of the match could have been several members, however today it was Rix’s day, scored one, set up two and was influential all over the pitch. Well played Graham!
