With winter setting in, only Landsdowne's results looked bleaker than the weather about to hit our shores. A run of 5 straight defeat's left under fire manager Peter Smart cursing his bad luck, but on the plus side if all else failed a trip down to Portsmouth was on the card's after their recent sacking of their manager Reginald Perring or something like that.

Today the manager decided on a few tactical changes to try and stop the rot and opted for a familiar formation of 4-4-2, seeing Vegas partnering Farmyard in the middle and dropping Raviugly ( sorry misspelling ) Raviolli in to the back four and to be fair it worked well.

The Lads took to the field a bit apprehensive which is no surprise after a run of 5 straight defeats and 6 players playing in different positions. However, as the game grew so did their confidence as the new system started to work. Unfortunately whilst the lads were getting used to there positions some poor marking enabled their winger to cut in and score a goal on the rebound score 1-0.

As the Half went on Landsdowne looked more threatening and reduced the opposition to long ball football. After several attempts at long last Landsdowne got the equalizer they deserved, when a long throw from Vegas enabled Ravioli to get a deft flick leaving the wise one no other choice other than to rip the net after an intelligent run into the box, leaving the score at half time 1-1 game on!!!!!

Manager "Have it!" gave a good team talk at half time about relaxing and remembering the ball was not a hot potato as it was being given away more times than Joan Collin's. So with this in mind the team took to the pitch determined to pass the ball better and be more relaxed in the second half.

With the Manager's words ringing in their ears the second pass was by Vegas, you could see him thinking and hear the cogs - "keep the ball, keep the ball" - and with this the T*T passed straight to the opposition. However, that is where it stopped.

In the second half Landsdowne kept more composure and at times played some quality football on the sodden pitch, however despite this they managed to concede a further 2 goals, one from a cross to a unmarked geezer at the back post, the other lobbing Bling from 25 yards. The score now was 3-1 with 25 mins to go.

This time though the heads stayed up and Landsdowne scored after a calm calculated penalty by Trigger, leaving the game now nicely poised with ten minutes to go.

Landsdowne continued to press and came close to equalizing after some good work out on the left by Verbal. Despite their efforts it looked like it was going to be another bad day at the office, but Durham were dropping deeper and deeper content to see it out, when Scotty made an intelligent run behind their defence which was spotted by Verbal and with a quick flick of his wrist (a throw in lads, a throw in) Scotty squared only to see the "Wise One" make another late run and slide it in the net, leaving the game at full time 3-3.

Truly a gallant effort and was more than deserved, thus lifting morale and adding a much needed point on the board.

MAN OF THE MATCH: The "Wise One" he says, according to Chinese mythology, "he who dares wins, luvvly jubbly".
