Man of the match
Tony Bush

Landsdowne went to the John Burrows Ground confident after a gutsy performance against top of the table Leigh Ramblers last week.

This confidence was short lived with Landsdowne going in at half time 1-0 down having spent the majority of the first half defending.

With the start of the second half it soon became evident that Ross represented the strongest side Landsdowne had played so far this season and it wasn't long before Ross were 5-0 up.

With their backs against the wall Landsdowne started to play some football reminiscent of previous weeks.

With approx. 25 minutes to go a long throw in from Danny Sarling opposite Ross's 18yrd box was duly flicked on by Tony Bush and slotted home by Martin Bell to make it 5-1.

Ross replied soon after but Landsdowne continued to press forward and were rewarded with a second goal when some trickery from Gavin Mayo saw him beat two defenders and curl in a cross which was converted by Tony Bush.

Landsdowne had further chances to reduce the deficit with Graham Rix, Dave Rix, Gavin Mayo and Mark Hart all going close.

The defeat now leaves Landsdowne in the relegation zone!
