Man of the match
Gavin Mayo

Landsdowne Rangers put in a performance today that would have had Alex Ferguson jumping for joy as they ditched their Wimbledon tactics and swapped it for sexy football, making more passes than drunk punters in a seedy night club!!

All 11 players performed to their abilities, the team carrying no casualties on the field for the first time this season.

The game was contested in the right spirit by both sets of players enabling free flowing football that eventually led to Landsdowne winning by 5 goals to 3.

The first goal came after about ten minutes when a corner from Dean Weaving deflected into Gavin Mayo's path.
He hit the ball without hesitation only to see the defender block the shot, then pounced on the rebound with the reactions of a Ninja to put Landsdowne ahead.

However, within five minutes of the restart Chronicles had levelled with an exquisite chip.

Then, thanks to a tremendous turn and work down the left from Graham Rix, whose power driver hit the bar,
Tony Bush scored with a thunderbolt from 6 inches to give Landsdowne a 2-1 lead at half time.

Five minutes into the second half, Mark Hart scored his first goal of the season with a tremendous header from a corner taken by Dean Weaving giving Landsdowne a two goal cushion.

However, Chronicles pulled it back to 3-2 about ten minutes later with a free kick that was executed well, leaving Darren Playford clutching at thin air.

Chronicles then forced Landsdowne back in search of an equaliser but to no avail when good work from Dean and Graham cut open their defence. This enabled Gavin Mayo to slot home his second goal of the game and put the match beyond reach for the home side.

Landsdowne then scored again through Graham Rix after a mix up between Chronicle's keeper and defender.

Chronicles looked deflated but managed to pull one goal back when Mark Hart slipped, enabling their striker a one on one and a final score line of 5-3.

After the game "Man of the Match" Gavin Mayo commented that he was proud to receive the reward, however it was the team result that mattered and stated that his love and hunger for the club was undiminished and his performance all down to his lucky French knickers!!
