Today’s fixture is a quarter final cup game against South Leigh Manor. The previous two encounters have been very feisty games; Landsdowne winning both and deservedly so. Today’s conditions probably the worst both teams would have to play and have ever played in, but with so many games called off already this one had to go ahead.

The game never really got going, Landsdowne had the better of the changes but the pitch ruined the change of anyteam trying to play footyball. When Landsdowne did get themselves in a good position it was hard to even shoot. Half time came by quickly with the scores 0-0. This game would be only be settled by the odd goal.

Second halve was much of the same, South Leigh had a few changes to win it but couldn’t take them. With about 10 minutes to go Smarty introduced Weaving and Mayo to try and change things a bit. It did just that as moments later Rix put Mayo through, one on one with the keeper Mayo coolly slotted the ball home, 1-0. With five minutes left South Leigh needed to push forward but Landsdowne did the right thing and kept attacking not allowing themselves to get under pressure.

Final score; 1-0. A good battling performance by Landsdowne and now a good opportunity to reach the Final for a second consecutive year. Well done boys.
