Todays game saw Landsdowne go on a trek. The game was to be played out in the middle of no-where. However, despite battling through pot holes the size of double DD cups, and stopping occasionally to have the suspension replaced on a couple of the vehicles, Landsdowne eventually got near the pitch, and parked up. Everybody got out of their cars only to realise there was further to go. So with this in mind, such is the youth and fitness of the team, everyone went "F**K that", got back in their cars and headed all of 500 yards to the pitch. People were moaning about the state of the road and their cars. Tony was moaning about the dirt, and Mark said about leaving his car by the roadside, to save his suspension, and in the next breath was upset as he had to pay his butler extra to wash the car for him.

Eventually, after another 5 second journey, everybody arrived at the ground, with only one thing in mind. Win today and it could be 10 on the trot. 10 Wins, what a feat. However, Landsdowne will have to play better than recent weeks. Every team has a blip through the season, not one team has a continual run without playing badly, but lately Landsdowne have been guilty of this too much. Too many people not working hard enough for the team. Landsdowne were very, very lucky last week and unless the correct application of hunger, drive, passion and work rate is applied Landsdowne will be found out sooner than later. The only plus point on recent dour performances is that despite the performance Landsdowne have managed to continue winning.

Landsdowne took to the field minus their keeper as he was called into work due to sickness. This left old man Sarling in goal. He didn’t want to go in but took it for the team, the only plus note is he was the only keeper this season to keep a clean sheet so all was not lost. Upturned the Ref, peep went the whistle. Game on!!!

Landsdowne came out of the traps all gun’s blazing, the old hunger and steely determination had returned, the passing was slick and quick. Farmyard was owning the left, he was on fire driving the team forward, when after some swift work, bang, 1-0 Landsdowne. Another Tony Bush special to add to all his other goals!!!

Landsdowne did not sit back, they pressed and pressed, they probed and prodded. Balls into the box, through the middle, down the right and more down the left with the rampanting Farmyard, chances were going begging but at least Landsdowne were in control and at last back to their best.

A few more attacks went beckoning, when a flicked on header from the grey haired old goat fell kindly for John and amongst the melee, the outcome, Landsdowne 2-0.

Not long had John been running around celebrating like a Gazelle on speed, when Tony Bush scored his second and the 3rd goal of the game. The score now Landsdowne 3-0 to the good with half time approaching. The whistle sounded and Landsdowne went off 3-0 up at half time.

The special special one gave his half time talk, pointing out that Landsdowne were playing within their comfort zone and had to up their game. Chances were going begging and work rate was not acceptable and that we should be punishing the opposition a lot more. So with this in mind Landsdowne took to the field to prove a point.

The opposition started where Landsdowne left off, they were clearly not in the mood to roll over. They attacked time and time again. Landsdowne had not started the 2nd half, it was as if players were in cruise mode, only difference was Landsdowne were not cruising, Landsdowne defended deep and defended for long period’s of the 2nd half but still maintaining there 3-0 lead. At this rate only 25 mins to go, what can go wrong? As it turned out the ref!! Let’s face it we are used to bad decisions but this one, OH MY GOD!!!!

Ben had arrived 5 minutes earlier and replaced Vegas in goal (another clean sheet for the fat bloke if only all keepers had asses that huge). Sorry Dal, forgot about you mate. Anyway, Ben’s 1st job was to defend a penalty when Rob was deemed to foul a player in the box (Come on ref really). The Ref had probably had enough of Landsdowne’s continual moaning and thought he would teach us a lesson.

Up-stepped there striker, Ben’s face looked serious, really focused or was it just bad wind. Who knows, either way the penalty was scored, Landsdowne had let them back in the game.

Landsdowne had started to play better in the final 15 min’s when a slide rule pass by Vegas put Perry through on goal. Perry run on to it and finished the goal in style, the score now 4-1 with a few minute’s to go. The whistle went and Landsdowne had now won 10 on the trot. The special special one would like to say "congratulations" to everybody involved, it is truly outstanding.

So Landsdowne made it to 10 unbeaten. Will it be 11? So far Landsdowne have grounded out result’s and performed miracles at time’s, but the hunger, drive, passion, work rate and all round play need to return before they get found out. Hopefully, starting next week, Landsdowne can put their blue print into action.

Remember Landsdowne’s blue print for the close of the season.

HUNGER, DRIVE, PASSION, WORKRATE = SUCCESS
