Today’s game a double header against Berry Boys; currently 2nd in the league and performing well, however as of late their results have not been convincing as they was at the start of the season. After a hard game against Hollandiers last week Landsdowne would be looking to get a result in at least one of the two games today.

Both teams were a bit lacklustre in the first game with neither team creating much, the score was 0-0 at half time and from a neutral point of view the game needed a goal to wake both teams up.

Berry responded in the second halve with a good finish from the edge of the box, Landsdowne still took a while to wake up and didn’t do so until there was about 5 minutes left. By this time it was too late and the first game finished 1-0 to Berry. Landsdowne needed to win the second to take the 3 points.

Landsdowne started the second game like a different side; they were winning their 50/50 battles and creating a lot more changes. Berry were struggling to keep up with the pace and the home side seemed the fitter of the two. Rob Marling struck with a vital goal before half time; a cross come shot but they all count, 1-0 at half time.

The second halve began with Landsdowne again on top. Medcraft was called into action a few times but made some good stops and the back four made sure nothing was getting through. With about ten minutes to go Rix played Sherry through who finished coolly with only the keeper to beat, 2-0 and 3 point secure. Good 2nd game boys.

Points shared on the day and rightly so. Berry wanted the first game more and Landsdowne wanted the second. Another win but another loss for both teams surely ensuring Hollandiers would be crowned div 4 champs!! Let’s keep going boys and finish as high in the league as we can. 3rd and 2nd still up for grabs.
