Landsdowne took on Outwood Common and were in desperate need of 3 points today, let’s have a look at some statistics!!!!

Since the change of formation to 4-3-3, Landsdowne have conceded only 4 goals in their last 4 matches not including the cup game as we had 10 men. Now that is awesome for any level, however on the flip side we have only scored 3 but hey that’s still not bad, 4 points out of the last 4 which we took 9 games to achieve in the 1st half of the season. So, with that in mind where do Landsdowne go, do they build on this solid form?????????? The answer was simply no!!!!

Manager Peter Smart just cannot seem to find a winning formula with this team and is in grave danger of losing his job. 4 out of 4 relegations cannot be good for any C.V. and this showed as he trudged off the pitch shaking his head drinking his John Smiths.

Landsdowne have been actively trying to hire Sven for the forthcoming season but to no avail due to his World Cup commitment’s with England, however Raviolli managed to get a brief interview with Sven and asked him what his thought’s were on the previous seasons to which Sven added, I should not pass comment but the Manager has gone down so many times, maybe a new career as a prostitute would bode well.

So there you Have it. We all thought Have it had lost the pot when he started talking about round pegs, square holes, we all know it’s a round ball and a oblong goal, but such is the pressure it can effect any man, and despite his best efforts today, Landsdowne still managed to come away with another defeat to their name.

The Manager tried 3 formations in this game to get a equalizer but unfortunately due to lack of shape and discipline, a loss was always on the cards despite some players best intentions.

Even though Outwood had more of the ball it was a tight game throughout, if there was a plus point to be taken from the game, however it only took Outwood 15 mins to score when a mix up saw their striker slotting home leaving the score 1-0 for a non eventful 25 mins, when up stepped the “Weavo” the one and only the incredible Mr. "where has the sun gone" Whitey, to grab an equalizer with 5 mins to spare. He looked up, saw Bushy at the back post, crossed the ball and it floated into the back of the net. A touch of class? Or a touch of wind? Who cares, either way it was goal and game back on 1-1.

The second half again was like the first, it could be likened to a cross between Big cook, little cook, and an old farm, the ball was treated like a hot potato, and there was 11 players running around like headless chickens. Hence, it was to no surprise that after 80 mins of giving the ball away we finally conceded a late goal, leaving Outwood 2-1 victors at the final whistle.

Man of the match

For the first time this season it was shared 3 ways between Whitey,Verbile and Bling and when approached for their thoughts, they commented on Whitey’s quality goal and appreciated that after reading the last bit he was probably sulking for a few seconds.

HAVE IT’S BIG FIVE

I felt that after the last game we could have done so much better as we have more talent than confidence running through this team at the moment.

We have tightened up now but need to aid the forward line and to do this we need to:

(1) Not be as deep as a defensive unit.
(2) The full backs push on and support the forwards out wide.
(3) Midfield support the attackers.
(4) The attackers to hold the ball up.
(5) The ball is not a hot potato.

Going forward if we pass the ball better and have more self belief we will win more points.
