Landsdowne recorded a good 3-1 win in the previous fixture. After a long break due to adverse weather conditions and the Christmas break both teams would need to battle today as fitness levels would surely be tested.

Belfair’s started the better of both teams and took a deserved lead. Landsdowne responded well and after some great football down the right by Rix and Dan T, Bushy continued his great scoring form. 1-1 at Half Time.

At half time Smartey was happy. His team had played okay and got themselves back in the game well. They just needed to keep going and take their changes. Unfortunately Belfair’s had other ideas and quickly took a 2-1 lead. This was followed by another goal, 3-1. Landsdowne now had it all to do.

Luckily this proved to be a wakeup call as with just over 10 minutes on the clock Landsdowne began to play some good football. Bushy again found himself in a good position and grabbed another goal, 3-2. Landsdowne now seemed to be the team in control. Smarty made a few changes in formation which seemed to work. A good cross by Rix was misjudged by the Belfair’s centre back... Yard anticipated well and managed to get his head to the ball before the goalkeeper. The ball trickled across the line for his 1st goal of the season, 3-3. Landsdowne would surely be happy with the point..... Rix had other ideas as moments later he battled through the middle of the pitch and applied a great finish into the bottom right corner. Final score 4-3/

Not the best performance but a great result for Landsdowne. Let’s keep it going lads. Now 7 wins from 8 league games.
