With the Christmas fixture period fast approaching Landsdowne Rangers needed to halt a run of two defeats going into today's game against title chasers Hockley British Legion to avoid slipping further into the relegation scrap.

The game was a fiercely contested midfield battle with few chances created for either team.

Hockley did turn on the pressure for long periods but the Landsdowne defence held firm, stifling the home team's attempts to create goal-scoring opportunities.

The match descended into a dull affair in the second half with Hockley continuing to pile on the pressure.

However, with corner after corner being cleared and the visitors defence and midfield working well together, Landsdowne's resistance eventually broke the spirit of the home team and the match ended in a draw.
