Today’s fixture is a cup game against Disaranno II. Landsdowne have played the first team several times and have had mixed results against them but with some good form coming into the game they were feeling confident about getting a result today.

From the off Landsdowne were the dominant force, it looked as if the result would be theres, it was just a question of by how many? Disaranno offered little up top but were causing a few problems from set pieces. Medcraft made a couple of vital stops from two successive corners. Landsdowne looked good on the break and were causing the defence problems with their speed up top and on the wing. But it was from a long throw that Landsdowne took the lead, Vieceli with the throw and Bushy with the finish, 1-0.

The next goal cam form a corner, Bushy again the scorer supplied by Trevarthen, 2-0. Landsdowne wanted to get another before have time, another corner by Trevarthen, this time met by Smart, 2-0. Half time. Landsdowne were looking very comfortable, Smartey words were those of caution, don’t get carried away, keep playing football, work hard and more goals will come.

They did just that, a through ball by Martin was picked up by Marling who slotted home his third goal in as many games, 4-0. Marling then cam the provider as he slotted the ball inside to Rix who made it 5-0. The game was now over but credit to Disaranno, they never gave up and kept working hard. This allowed Landsdowne to keep going. Marling grabbing his second of the game, a great cross by smart was met with an equally very good header, 6-0. Trevarthen finished it off, good work my Marling forcing the ball Dan T on the edge, first time drive into the roof of the net, 7-0 and game over.

A great result for Landsdowne. Another 7 goals and also a well earned clean sheet. Let’s keep the results and the performances coming boys. Well done!!
