Man of the match
Scott Causer

Due to Granddad being away having a heart transplant (and hopefully getting his voice box removed!!) I, Mr White, have been forced to try and fill the massive void (left by Dans arse) to do the match report. So bare with me and I will do me best.

Landsdowne took to the field feeling positive after the week before performance where the team showed character and self belief. Today of course was a different matter. Landsdowne playing with home advantage was told by manager Pete Smart "We owe these, so get out there and do them". Manager Pete Smart was right, due to the unfair result during the previous time these teams met, it's only fair to say that Landsdowne would walk out as favourites, but this was not the case then they walked off.

The first half can only be called a circus as Landsdowne showed that football was not on the brain this chosen morning. They started the half very badly, due to a error from Whitey resulting in two corners. Straight away Landsdowne where under pressure and this was how the first half continued.

Landsdowne left the field with their heads low, trailing 1-0 at half time against one of the poorest footballing teams I have every seen. Pete was fuming - too bloody right - and gave his players the harshest words to have ever flown from his mouth (apart from when Bushy's always off side). Hence, the team walked onto the pitch for the second half with a new spirit. However, this was to prove a tougher test than ever imagined, Landsdowne continuously pressuring on Royals and the Landsdowne defence looking to have its quietest half ever. Unfortunately the commitment to go forward did not pay off as Royals broke quick and punished Landsdowne for their forward thinking, 2-0.

The game was still there for the taking as Landsdowne continued to but pressure on Royals, forcing them to make chances to try and sustain the pressure, but Landsdowne could not create chances, and anything that did fall to their strikers where pieces of scrap. Royals then broke again on the counter to finish off an already broken Landsdowne side and slide the ball home to leave the score-line 3-0.

The Landsdowne team left the field with no points and with only themselves to blame for what can only be called a shameful defeat by a poor Royals side.

After chasing Scott down the road for an interview, he turned and realised it wasn't Bushy trying to get money out of him, and said to us that "although its always a pleasure to win Man of the Match, every one on the pitch needs to play better if we are to win games".
