You would have thought after the cruel suffering Landsdowne had to endure in the last match against
Old Southendian they would have been up for it from the start. Unfortunately this was not the case as not only did Landsdowne players get lost before the game they also went missing throughout it.

Football is an easy game if played as a team, 11 against 11, all that is needed is hard work, passion and a bit of luck.

Landsdowne had none of the above and put in their worst performance of the season, forgetting how to pass, win a tackle, hold up the ball, show passion, commitment, and when needed let their team mates down.

Too many Landsdowne players were looking to pass the buck instead of looking inside.

We are miles better than this and with a bit of gym work who knows maybe we can win something.

All the players have one last chance this season of a bit of silverware as Landsdowne play Old Southendian's in the semi-final of the Charity Cup on the 03-Apr-05.

Landsdowne Manager Peter Smart stated I wish my players could pass the ball like they do, if so we would win everything. It's a team game. We win as a team and lose as a team. Sometimes out there we don't WORK as a team.

A good example was today's drubbing of 4-0 by this in form side.

Old Southendian camped in Landsdowne's half for the entire 90 minutes, not letting up for 2 seconds, and 4-0 in fairness was a good result for Landsdowne. If it wasn't for the defence the score-line would have been alot higher.

Their young lads broke down the wings and through the middle, passing the ball with conviction and when losing possession WORKED hard to get the ball back, although to be fair they didn't loose the ball much.

The only positive that can be taken from this game is that we now know where the ground is and that in a few weeks we have a chance to make up for this dreadful showing and knocking them out the cup.

MAN OF THE MATCH Dean Weaving said he was grateful for his award and loves the club but would give up all his awards and goals to play in the final of the cup and hopes his team-mates will do the same.

REMEMBER - WE CAN DO IT. WORK HARD. BELIEVE IN EACH OTHER. WE ARE NOT A NORMAL FOOTBALL CLUB. WE ARE CLOSER THAN MOST. WE ARE LANDSDOWNE TILL WE DIE. NOW GET OUT THERE AND FIGHT FOR THE CAUSE. THIS CLUB DESERVES A MEDAL AND WE ARE THE PLAYERS TO DO IT.
