Match Report

Old Southendian 6 1 Landsdowne Rangers

Goals scored
Dave Rix

Man of the match
Peter Smart

Today was Landsdowne's last game of the season and at stake was a place in the final of the Charity Cup.
The opponents standing in their way were Old Southendians who were a very good young side.

Manager Peter Smart decided to change the team around to give us more legs in the middle of the park, as in the previous two meetings the middle was overrun. Unfortunately it didn't work and the middle was left chasing shadows as in the two previous meetings.

The best way to put it is that the best team won 6-1, the score-line to be fair a bit flattering, but this was aided by the most biased linesman you will ever see. His arm was up and down so much I thought he was doing a dance out of "Saturday Night Fever".

And as for the ref, where do I start ?

It has to be the most inept, controversial, uncontrolling, unprofessional, incapable performance from a ref the team has ever seen. It was that poor that even the opposition tried to stick up for us.

It was clear that the ref was a control freak. Only problem was he had no control, issuing 6 cards in a clean game. Honestly, he gave out so many cards in quick succession maybe a career in a casino would suit him.

The ref's decisions were that bad that at one point three players sat down near the end afraid of a booking.
Well, Tony did as he was already in trouble with the Mrs for his yellow. As for the other two they were knackered as they were not used to working that hard.

The only positives to be taken from the game was that it ended and Landsdownes new striker Dave Rix scored with a sublime finish, and while I'm at it, "cha ching" - cheers for the beer fella.

Also Peter Smart started of for the first time in at left back, and put in a sterling performance which saw him win "MAN OF THE MATCH".

Peter Smart was over the moon with his performance and stated he was looking at a come-back next season and that was the reason why he was controlling and losing his weight. When asked about his training techniques he replied, "I'm on 10 porno's a day now and looking to push it to 15 as the weight is just coming off!!!".

So, where does it leave us for next season ?

Unfortunately we are losing a couple of players and its a shame to see them go as they worked really hard in the first game, or was it the fifth ? Oh, anyway, I can't remember now but I know they worked hard in one of them.

So "thanks" for your commitment over the past four years and "good luck" next season. Just to prove that there is no hard feelings, we safely say "pi** off you to**ers!!!!".

BUT A NEW SEASON AWAITS and Landsdowne sticks with the club motto that they have used for 14 years, only previously used by "Del Boy" himself.

This time next year we could be.................... I think you know the rest, so I bid you all "adgour" till next season.

Cheers Danny.
