The Quarter Final of the League cup saw Bromfords Reunion lock horns with Landsdowne Rangers once more. After reading the Bromfords website, it was clear that they would be well up for this tie, as were we….

The game was a pretty game by any means, as ugly bas*ards Tony Bush, Rob Marling and Danny Sarling would all feature. The game was a battling in game with each team not letting the other team get much of a foothold in the game.

After 2 or 3 minutes, Landsdowne had a dream start as John Wilson rose like a salmon in the Bromfords box, from a Chris Vieceli corner. John headed up and over the stranded Bromfords keeper and into the back of the net.

Bromfords were soon level as the ball was never cleared from a Bromfords corner and somehow managed to find its way to the back of the net from a crowded penalty bo.x

Half time came and went and still 1 – 1, Bromfords were forcing more and more as the wind really started to whistle through the middle of the park, and Bromfords capitalised on there pressure by clearly handballing the ball into the goal. Which mostly everyone saw apart from the poor standard of refereeing on show today.

2 – 1 up and the game was not lost, although you don’t get many goals against Bromfords, Landsdowne had to force at least one to get anything out of the game.

Bromfords managed to score twice more before the final whistle, and they were both quality goals to be fair. The first was a punt up field, which there striker latch onto and shot cleanly into the back of the net. There 4th and final goal, was a superbly played ball swept over from the Landsdowne left, brilliantly taken on the chest and volleyed into the goal.

The best team won at the end of the day, although it would have been unfair if the game was decided on the cheating that was the Bromfords second goal. On a sour note, along with Terry getting injured in training, Tony, Rob and Chris all had to be replaced due to injury. Dean and Wilson also have to dip into there pockets to pay there £8 yellow card fines, I guess Wilson wont be able to afford the tour now!!!

Man of the match: Chris Vieceli, had a good shift on the right of midfield and is now off on holiday for a week DURING FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!
